An superb early 19th century brass and steel model of a single cylinder jet condensing beam engine, with an engraved name plate 'J Burnett Tarves' . The engineering of this model is of outstanding quality with six pillars supporting the beam and with engraved flowers, stars and trailing leaves throught out. John Burnett is listed as a clockmaker in Tarves but no other models are recorded by him.
