The Irish Antique Dealers Association was founded in 1969 to promote, regulate, protect, represent and further the interests of its members in Ireland and further a field. It is the only antique trade association in Ireland and has a membership of 80.

Members of the Association deal in a very wide range of objects and therefore there is a wide range of expertise to offer. Members of the Association have to abide by a stringent code of practice, which is overseen by Council members. To become a member of the Association, applicants are strictly vetted before acceptance and their membership is renewed annually to make certain that they maintain high standards. It is essential to maintain confidence with the public that high standards are adhered to and also good relationships maintained with everyone interested in the antique trade. The Association holds an annual antique fair at the Royal Dublin Society, Ballsbridge, Dublin which is held at the end of September beginning of October each year (for information visit our website www.iada.ie). The Association also holds Antique Roadshows throughout Ireland, carrying out free valuations.

The Association is involved in promotion and education in Ireland. It has a Friends of the Irish Antique Dealers Association and carries out through the Friends lectures, seminars and outings. It awards annually the Ronald McDonnell Bursary (founded in memory of the Association’s first President Ronald McDonnell and his wife Doreen), the bursary is to assist an Irish craftsperson of exceptional talent and commitment to further their studies in conservation and restoration.

The Irish Antique Dealers Association is Ireland's leading trade organisation for antique dealers. All members are able to offer sound advice on the purchase of antiques and works of art. A client wishing either to buy or sell items can deal confidently with I.A.D.A. members who display the Association's symbol.
