The New Zealand Antique Dealers' Association was formed in 1957 to further the interests of those engaged in buying and selling or collecting Antiques and Works of Art. The aim is to foster a high standard of integrity among those engaged in the Antique Trade and to inspire the public's confidence in its members.

Our priority is the maintenance of good relations between dealers and their clients. These are imperative if trade in worthwhile objects is to be increased. There is a constant demand for good antiques and it is our desire to satisfy this demand as well as we are able.

The New Zealand Antique Dealers' Association belongs to the European body, the Confederation Internationale des Negociants en Oeuvres D'Art. This means that members can be counted on for advice and credibility. They are bound by the code of ethics and the by-laws set out by the association and by CINOA.

A high degree of co-operation exists between members of the Association. Collectors and investors can consult any member in the knowledge that they will be directed to the expert best suited to handle their specific enquiry.

At present our membership stands at 21 and comprises 2 fine art galleries along with 19 antique dealers located in many parts of New Zealand. Auckland, Rotorua, Palmerston North, Masterton, Greytown and Wellington in the North Island, while the South Island is represented with three members located in Queenstown and Christchurch. In all, a wide spectrum of quality, period art and antiques is to be found, with each member having a sound knowledge in their particular fields of expertise.
