The National Antique & Art Dealers Association of America is a non-profit trade association of America's leading dealers mutually pledged to safeguard the interests of those who buy, sell, or collect antiques and works of art.

Founded in 1954, NAADAA seeks to promote the best interests of the antique trade; to sponsor and organize antique and art exhibitions; and to promote just, honorable and ethical trade practices.

Many years of study and experience are necessary to acquire the specialized knowledge that has made NAADAA members recognized authorities in their various fields. Each member of the Association has earned a high reputation for integrity and fair dealing in all transactions, so that collectors can be confident that an antique or work of art is honestly represented as to authenticity, provenance and condition.

NAADAA members take pride in the careful, personalized service they provide. Whether to acquire a single object or add to a collection, the Association cordially invites you to visit the shops and galleries listed in this Directory, and to make use of our member's knowledge and experience.

NAADAA Activities

For nearly 50 years, the Association has presented exhibitions, and has sponsored a wide range of conferences and lectures concerning art and antiques for both specialists and the general public.

The Association cooperates in organizing the highly-acclaimed International Antique Dealers Show, and was instrumental in establishing it as the first vetted show in New York City. Held at the Seventh Regiment Armory in October, the International Show is considered to be the foremost antiques and fine arts event in the United States. In 1989 and 1990, NAADAA sponsored the show's lecture program, a series of talks by distinguished museum curators, scholars and decorative arts specialists.
In addition, individual NAADAA members participate in many prestigious national and international antiques and arts shows, and hold numerous exhibitions in their own establishments. Recognized for their scholarship and expertise, members of the Association contribute to or sponsor a variety of publications in their areas of specialization each year.

In 1993 NAADAA awarded a substantial scholarship to the new Bard Graduate Center for Studies in the Decorative Arts. This grant is indicative of our commitment to education and research.
