Daniel Bexfield AntiquesEst. 1980
Daniel Bexfield Antiques specialises in silver and objects of vertu dating from the 17th to the 20th centuries. The shop is located in the Burlington Arcade, London - the world’s first shopping arcade - and mostly stocks English hallmarked silver, with an extensive range ranging from centrepieces to small, highly individual items. Prices range from £200 to £150,000. Also on display are some Continental silver pieces and fine jewellery. Daniel Bexfield’s interest in antique silver started when he began working in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, for a general antique dealer. He then branched out with his own stalls at markets around the country, but most notably at London’s famous Portobello Road and the Bond Street Antiques Centre. In 1998 Daniel opened Daniel Bexfield Antiques in the Burlington Arcade. Recognition of his knowledge followed with interview requests and television appearances. He is now publishing editor of The Finial, the bi-monthly magazine for The Silver Spoon Club of Great Britain and book credits include the Buyer’s Guide: Silver & Plate, from Miller’s Publications. Daniel Bexfield Antiques has its own workshop on the top floor, which offers a cleaning, plating and repairing service, as well as the fitting and supplying of Bristol Blue Glass liners for tableware. They also undertake insurance and probate valuations as well as cataloguing and photographing collections and bidding on behalf of clients at major auction houses. |
