The Didier Aaron gallery opened in 1923 and today offers its clients a significant collection of works of art, with close to 500 works on permanent display. The collection brings together furniture, paintings, drawings and art objects from the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. They offer departments specialising in furniture and objects, paintings and drawings. The gallery has acted in one of the most significant transactions achieved for an Old Master: a painting by Titian recently acquired for over US$50 million by the J. Paul Getty Museum in the USA. The Didier Aaron gallery caters to an international clientele of individuals, collectors, interior decorators and conservators from major museums such as New York's Metropolitan Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum, the National Gallery in London, the Louvre in Paris and Tokyo's Museum of Western Art. Other clients include numerous French and American regional museums. |
