Mary Helen McCoy has been in the fine antiques trade since 1987 offering clients, including architects and interior designers, the finest examples of French period furniture and decorative arts. She specializes in exceptional pieces by French provincial makers including the Hache family of cabinetmakers from Grenoble, France. Her firm Mary Helen McCoy Fine Antiques opened in her native hometown Birmingham, Alabama. She then had a gallery in Charleston, SC from 2008-2013 and became a private dealer-broker in Memphis, TN in 2013.

In 2000 the firm was tapped for membership into the prestigious Syndicat National des Antiquaires with joint membership to CINOA. The firm was admitted into the Art and Antique Dealers League of America in 2002 and The National Antique and Art Dealers Association of America in 2008.

Mary Helen McCoy has exhibited in the nation’s finest vetted national and international and antiques and art fairs. The firm has been featured in many regional, national and international publications such as Architectural Digest, Traditional Home, Le Figaro, Connaissance des Arts, The New York Times, The Palm Beach Post, Art + Auction, The Magazine Antiques, The Antiques Trade Gazette, Maine Antiques Digest, Southern Accents, Veranda, Forbes Life, Charleston Magazine, Memphis Magazine, Birmingham Magazine and Charleston Style and Design.

After 35 years of dedication to the antiques trade Mary Helen has scaled back her inventory and serves as a private broker to serious clients. Her many years of experience and wide network of the finest dealers and experts benefits those who entrust her to find exceptional objects. In the fall of 2023 she will be once again be located in her hometown of Birmingham, Alabama and will be working by appointment only.
