Founded by Jonathan Voak in 1997, Atelier Limited is based in London and Jersey and deals mainly in 17th- to early 20th-century oil paintings, watercolours, drawings and etchings. Framing, valuation and picture search services are also available, in addition to a conservation service. The company operates from its office in Grouville, Jersey, and uses its London base near Tower Bridge to meet clients. It also holds regular exhibitions in Jersey and Guernsey, and exhibits at some of the principal London art and antiques fairs.
Atelier specialise in works depicting the Channel Islands, early views of the river Thames, with a special emphasis on the London Docklands, and marine paintings in general. A strong marine theme is usually balanced by a number of landscape, figurative and still life paintings. Many of the landscapes depict locations in the British Isles.
Before setting up Atelier Jonathan was a curator at the Victoria and Albert Museum and Head of Apsley House, the Wellington Museum, on Hyde Park Corner in London.
Full colour illustrated catalogues are issued up to three times a year.
