Established in 1973, Bohun Gallery has earned a national reputation as one of the leading out-of-London galleries exhibiting a variety of the most influential and progressive figures in 20th Century British Art and Sculpture.
Specialising in contemporary and modern British paintings, prints and sculpture, the Bohun Gallery has a particularly strong and enduring association with John Piper, Donald Hamilton Fraser, Mary Fedden and Julian Trevelyan. Other artists whom the gallery has exhibited over its 40 year history include Elisabeth Frink, Maggi Hambling, Ivon Hitchens, David Hockney, John Hoyland, Albert Irvin, Eric Rimmington and Wilhelmina Barns-Graham.
The gallery runs a lively and varied exhibition programme with up to nine exhibitions every year, including solo shows of paintings by gallery artists and exhibitions of original prints. The sculpture garden features contemporary sculptors during the summer and the annual December ‘Small Paintings’ show has become a very popular feature of their busy exhibition calendar. A member of the London Society of Art Dealers, the Bohun Gallery handles the Estate of Julian Trevelyan and supports the work of several museums and arts charities. The gallery also undertakes private commissions for both paintings and sculpture.
