As the largest resource for portrait miniatures in America, Elle Shushan specializes in the full realm of the art. American, British and European miniatures, ranging from the 17th through the 21st centuries are all represented in the extensive collection, available to be seen by appointment in a landmark building in Philadelphia.
In addition to many notable private collectors, Elle Shushan works with outstanding museum collections, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, the Yale Center for British Art and the New Orleans Museum of Art, which houses her family’s collection of portrait miniatures.
Elle Shushan’s articles on portrait miniatures have been published in The Magazine Antiques, Art + Auction, Antiques and Fine Art, and Connaissance des Arts. Most recently she served as consultant for the collection catalogue American Portrait Miniatures in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and co-authored the exhibition catalogue of The Look of Love: Eye Miniatures from the Skier Collection, published by the Birmingham Museum of Art.
Elle is a member of the Private Art Dealers Association, the Association of Historians of American Art, the Antiques Dealers’ Association of America, and the Company of Arts Scholars. She serves on the vetting committees of the Winter Antiques Show and Masterpiece London.
