The Richard Philp Gallery was established by Richard Philp over 40 years ago, specialising in early portraiture, Old Master drawings, Medieval and Renaissance sculpture, antiquities and 20th-century British and European drawings - an exciting amalgamation of periods and cultures. The human figure and the various ways it is interpreted is a continuous theme throughout the gallery’s collections.
The gallery is now based Richard’s house in West London by appointment. In addition to private viewings of the works of art at the gallery, it is possible to see its works at two international art fairs: Masterpiece London in June and the Winter Antiques Show, New York in January.
Richard’s aim is to build up long-term relationships with his clients by offering a highly personal and individual service. All objects are thoroughly researched and may be supplied with a condition report if required. Richard is proud of his sensitive use of period frames on both Old Master and 20th-century drawings, and specialises in the sympathetic presentation of all works of art. Advice on framing, restoration, care and presentation is also available.
