Rupert Wace Ancient Art offers a broad range of art works from the ancient world, chosen for their rarity, collection history and, above all, their artistic merit and intrinsic beauty.
The cultures of ancient Egypt, the Near East and the classical worlds of Greece and Rome are represented, together with examples of fine craftsmanship from the so-called Dark Ages of Northern Europe.
The wide range of carefully chosen stock of Egyptian artefacts can range from mummy masks and bronzes to stone reliefs. The Classical world is represented by objects from the domestic to the decorative – a Greek hydria or a fragment of a Roman fresco.
Having dealt in antiquities for over 30 years, Rupert Wace has handled many private sales, including that of the British Rail Pension Fund and his clients include major international collectors, as well as some of the world's great museums such as the British Museum and the Ashmolean in the UK; the Musée du Louvre, Paris; the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston and the Staatliche Museum in Munich.
Rupert Wace is a member of the Antiquities’ Dealers Association in the UK and is currently chairman of the International Association of Dealers in Ancient Art.
