T G Wilkinson Antiques Ltd have been established in Petworth in West Sussex for over twenty years and are now the longest-established antique dealers in this pretty market town, just fifty miles from London and one hour from Heathrow and Gatwick airports.
Having started in the antiques trade over forty years ago as a trainee auctioneer, Tony Wilkinson progressed to become a director of one of the largest antique furniture businesses in London, subsequently moving to Sussex to fulfil his desire of setting up his own business.
T G Wilkinson Antiques specialises in mainly formal 18th- and 19th-century furniture, chosen for colour, proportion and quality. Having originally been a home and overseas trade business for many years they now sell to retail customers as well. In the shop customers will always find examples of 18th- and early 19th century mahogany, rosewood and walnut furniture, complemented by a selection of mirrors, pictures, boxes and collectable items, to suit all pockets.
The business has not shown at any of the major fairs for several years, but concentrates all efforts on the Petworth premises, where the extensive stock is displayed in its charming period showroom overlooking the Market Square.
