W A Pinn & Sons is run by brothers, John and Keith Pinn. Their father, Bill Pinn, first became interested in antiques in the 1920s and later became a collector, finally opening his own shop in 1960. The firm moved from Dunstable to Sible Hedingham in 1978.
They specialise in Georgian and earlier furniture and also stock a good selection of antique metalware, treen, lighting, candlesticks, etc. They continue their father's tradition of always having 'something interesting and unusual in stock'. This includes some high value pieces, but also lower-priced items, which have some feature that lifts them out of the ordinary. All of their stock is selected for authenticity, merit and interest.
Keith is Chairman of the metalwork vetting committee at the Olympia Antiques Fairs and has vetted brass and base metals at numerous other antiques fairs, including the Grosvenor House Antiques Fair and Masterpiece London. He is also a former Chairman of the Antique Metalware Society, an authority on the rare Chinese alloy, paktong, and author of the seminal work of the same name.
Keith and his wife Gill are members of the Furniture History Society, have served on the council of the Regional Furniture Society and take an active part in many of the society's meetings and events.
They currently show at the Decorative Antiques Fair in Battersea three timed a year and the Langley Park Antiques Fair near Norwich in May/June and October.
