Claudia Hill at Ellison Fine Art

Claudia Hill at Ellison Fine Art

Ellison Fine Art has been established for over 12 years and specialises in selling fine English and Continental portrait miniatures and silhouettes from the 16th century through to the middle of the 19th century.

The firm carries an extensive range of stock, to appeal to the beginner, as well as to the more established collector. Each portrait is chosen for the quality, condition and “collectability” factor. The firm is always available to give advice to anyone interested in forming a collection, including help with how to display and store the portrait miniatures and how to buy with confidence.

Working from her residence in Beaconsfield, the business is run by Claudia Hill, who has specialised in portrait miniatures and silhouettes for 30 years. She was formerly the specialist in portrait miniatures for Christie’s for ten years, followed by ten years at Bonhams. She has appeared on national television and radio as a leading expert in her field of collecting and has lectured many times for NADFAS on both portrait miniatures and silhouettes.

Claudia has also served on numerous antique fair vetting committees over the years, including for Clarion Events fairs held in London and Birmingham, Art Antiques London, Grosvenor House and, more recently, Masterpiece. Claudia is a member of the Company of Arts Scholars, Dealers and Collectors.
