Pracownia Art-Kons Monika Rzegocińska-Wiącek

A professionally qualified art conservator specialising in the Conservation and Restoration of Paintings and Polychrome Sculpture, she graduated from the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Toruń in 2000.

For more than twenty-five years, she has run a conservation studio in Ostrów Wielkopolski, specialising primarily in paintings and decorative arts. It is a family business with a continuous tradition dating back to its foundation in 1949.

She completed the postgraduate programme in  Rynek sztuki i antyków (Art and Antiques Market) in Kraków at Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University, as well as a degree in Art History at the University of Silesia in Katowice. Her research focused on Visual Analysis as a Method of Distinguishing Originals from Forgeries, Using the Paintings of Wojciech and Jerzy Kossak as a Case Study. This area of study reflects her specialist expertise in the fields of authenticity, attribution, and the evaluation of works of art.

She is a member of the Association of Certified Professional Conservators of Historic Monuments.

She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and promoting art collecting and the preservation of cultural heritage through the educational Facebook community Poradnik Kolekcjonera Sztuka i Antyki (Collector's Guide: Art & Antiques).

She is a collector of female portraiture and of works and family memorabilia associated with the Kraków painter Witold Rzegociński.

She regularly participates in Art and Antiques Fairs and actively promotes direct engagement with art through frequent visits to museums, galleries, and exhibitions, sharing these experiences with a wider audience.
